Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt able to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started spending more time together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the film, remarking that he could not remember "a single day without mirth".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a distinct piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official ruled to block the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order issued a embargo on the cases to prohibit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

After the deaths, public figures offered different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing controversial statements that were widely condemned by many individuals.
