The relatives of teenagers unaccounted for after a tragic fire at a bar in a Swiss alpine town are confronting an agonising period of uncertainty for official news and appealing for clues about their family members online.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of January 1st. Confirmed footage show the ceiling catching alight as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Authorities have warned that it could take days if not weeks to identify the victims of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and injured another 119. Officials said on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been accounted for, with the process continuing to name the other six.

In the interim, loved ones have been using social media to plead for any news about their missing relatives who were in attendance that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The fate of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his parent.

The who lives of a town near the city, told a local newspaper that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the hospital, while his other parent did the equivalent search in the capital, but did not locate him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a nightmare. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in critical condition. Words cannot describe it," she stated.

The Italian foreign ministry has confirmed that a number of of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

The national sporting body has stated that he is dead, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who carried with him dedication and authentic values."

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His mother explained that he had been on holiday but had gone out with friends and found himself at the bar.

"A close friend told me they fled after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a identifiable piece of jewelry.

One of his teachers stated, "I remember his good nature and positive demeanor, alongside great responsibility. Often offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has posted an appeal on social media, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the situation.
